KICK ASS METAL wants to wish Anja Natasha Lindløv a Happy Birthday……!!!! We @ KICK*ASS*METAL ever since March 29th, 1999. Every Friday gets some beer, top-shelf alcohol, gourmet pizza, and we get out two of the Greatest albums of all-time Dismal Euphony’s “All Little Devils” and the most important album, of the modern age of classic heavy gothic metal, the untouchable Dismal Euphony “Python Zero”….and after going on 20 years of perfect perfection and mastery of these KICK ASS METAL classics, at our offices. I think even Anja Natasha would be impressed. At how perfect we have got both vocalist parts mastered. I am pretty sure Anja Natasha’s timbre is a contralto. But no matter what as a classical trained vocalist myself. I have to say. Anja Natasha had the most powerful delivery, and executed very line of melody with talent passion and conviction.
I always had bad guilt’s back in the 1990s, I never got to tell all my hero’s how powerful and how important their music is to me even to this day….!!! And as everyone remembers on January 27,th 2001 Dismal Euphony was the first band in Heavy Metal History to have a classic/ legendary/ timeless masterpiece album. As a music fan since birth, I got to see all of modern music develop all styles from day one back in 1967 when I was a was a little hunt and peck piano player, and in 1976 I got my first rock and roll album as first day buyer Boston “Boston”….so toward the middle part of 1999 to the 3 quarter part of 2000. Were I was working at as a journalist, we were closely looking at all the classic albums from 1998 and see what and if what bands would have THE FIRST masterpiece in the 21st century while being legendary in the 20th century. At first I thought I found the winner of this achievement in Kristin Fjellseth who lives in Oslo, Norway, but when I checked the news services, the albums was 40 days to early of the 21st century.
So as a Dismal Euphony fan, when January 27th, 2001 happened. I was the first one to the record store. I found a European Import, on CD. And I knew right away this was going to be one of my favorite albums of all-time!!!! So I rushed across town and on the west-side of the town, there was the US version of this all-time classic in the record shelves, so I got it right away….!!!! I was very happy for the band, and was doing promotional work for the band, and offering my album review to anyone that would publish it, so later in that year, I wrote the band an email, but it was to late. They disbanded, but I could never get any news archives on this….!!!
But what I loved about Dismal Euphony, is I can see the 23rd century written all-over it, and those of us, who want to advance the future of modern music. I really hope there is a Kristin Fjellseth College in Oslo, Norway, a Anja Natasha Lindløv Concert Hal lAuditorium in Stavanger, Norway. Kari Rueslåtten and Anneke van Giersbergen need to be honored this way also !!!

The day was August 22nd, 1995 and I was working as a concert promoter in the United States, and the new The Gathering CD at the time was entitled “Mandylion” featuring a new sound, new configuration. And a re-birth of a music genere.
It was a day no fan of World-Class Music featuring A World-Class Vocalist will ever forget. I was playing this timeless masterpiece @ total concert levels. You know when the windows rattle but do not shatter. My mom who was a Classical Singer in the 1960’s and 1970’s, stopped by, and I was getting ready for work, in the band booking office, so I had to wear a business suit, and my mom stopped by and turned down the stero, and asked. “Who is that? I wish I could sing like that”. Anneke van Giersbergen when my mom thinks you’re a good singer, that is the highest compliment one could ever receive in life. During a certain time frame in music 1993-2003 Atomospheric Music was very popular.
There were 4 Vocalist that dominated my CD player even to this day.

And it happened sometime in 2013 or so I believe.
And the 4 of course Anja Natasha Lindløv
January 29th, 2001 was one of the best days in my life as a music fan, January 29th, 2001 it was cold as all could be, I called first to my local record shoppe? “Is the New Dismal Euphony in” it was I put in on hold where they save it for you. I got to the record shoppe, and I got the last copy, so I knew this CD would be a classic like the predecessor. So I still had a lot of money for my CD binge, I just got a workers tax rebate, so I always spent half of this money on culture books, movies, music and the other half goes in a Christmas Savings. And the record shoppe across town had another copy of Dismal Euphony’s “Python Zero”. So at the time I had every World-Wide Pressing of this all-time Masterpiece. Not only was this one of the greatest albums of all-time. But I noticed a very important distinction. Anja Natasha Lindløv was the very first human being to be a World-Class Vocalist in 2 centuries.
I cover music as a specialized press of melodic music which features bands with male and female vocalist in the same band, or bands with female vocalist. Because in the early 1980’s using common sense and extensive training as a vocalist myself, as a classical musician a vocalist, myself. I know females add 3 ranges to music not found in male singers. And my favorite female vocalist are Contralto’s. And I have yet to confirm this with a College Professor. But I believe Anja Natasha circa 1999-2001 was a Contralto. If I am wrong on this fact, I will change my statement. But any how, one thing I know for certain as a music fan. Anja Natasha Lindløv is a 1 in a 100 billion, and no other singer has her timbre’, and her melody’s are all her own. A master at song-writing in terms of harmonies and melodies.
Those who were music fans from this era will distinctly remember this in 2001 when journalist had to make our top 10 and top 100 albums of 2001. Dismal Euphony “Python Zero” won a top 10 album of the year honor in 2001 and Anja Natasha Lindløv was name our Person of the year in 2001. Which we honor the Greatest World-Class Vocalist of that year. Every Friday Night where I work at now, we have staff meetings, talking about what albums were going to buy, and bands were going to cover, then after all that is done. We do karaoke, and the PASSWORD to get in is LYRICS album Dismal Euphony “Python Zero”. We always get pizza with double everything, and but tons of beer on ice the good stuff, and karaoke insanity, until 7:59 AM Saturday Morning.

Dismal Euphony was already a legendary band, during the Keltziva-era of Dismal Euphony.
But when the Anja Natasha – era of Dismal Euphony happened, the band became a million times more talented, more original, more melodic, and made music, of the highest order of art, supreme avant-garde gothic metal, that will survive the test of time.
In March 1999…Anja Natasha first appeared on a top 500 album, for the 20th Century. For the year 1999 with the timeless classic “ALL LITTLE DEVILS”.
Sure their was the best VHS tape released the brilliant Lady Ablaze, which also was released as a EP, in 2000..!!!!!
In January 29th, 2001 for the year 2001, I rate the album “Python Zero” as a top 10 album for that year. So it is a top 100, top 500 album for the 21st century.
Since that era. The 21st century; received it first real and true timeless, masterpiece, classic, essential album “Python Zeron” on its 29th day in 2001.
With the mind-blowing and jaw dropping “Python Zero” where Anja Natasha is a real superstar and world-class vocalist on “Python Zero”.
Anja Natasha, Really lights that LP up, with tons of charisma and talent and originality. Anja Natasha possess one of the most original timbres in all of music, not just rock music, all of music.
There is no band who released a classic album circa 1980-1999, who predates, the classic “Python Zero” which was only 29 days in. For the new century.
Sure your thinking. What about Tristania with “World of Glass” ..that was in late September, 2001, so for this historic first it is Anja Natasha.
Kristin Fjellseth has a top rated albums with KICK*ASS*METAL.
But the 2001 Crest of darkness album. was actually released in November 2000. And the Russian Jewel Case Version. Has a 2001 released date, but that happened, the Russian Jewel case re-edition, happened way after Python Zero.
Kristin Fjellseth time again. She has a heavy metal artist, during this time, circa 1999-2001 and a did TRUE NORWEGIAN SOFT ROCK, with Pale Forest. To keep thinking of this subject matter, but this time with Pale Forest as a dark pop band. But everyone knows “Exit Mould” has a July, 31, 2001 released date.
Sure whoa. Your thinking off the top of your head, Opeth’s qualifies right , but “Black Water Park”, was released in March 2001.
Sigh could make the claim with their classic 2001 album “Imaginary Sonicscapes”, but that was released in July 2001.
So far the Anja Natasha – era Dismal Euphony. Is still the first, to perform this feat.
Some bands have classics in the 20th Century and nothing in the 21 st century. and some bands have there first real classic album starting in 2001 and no classic albums in the 20th century.
How cool is that to have a favorite vocalist, who has left an indelible mark on the 20th and 21st century for the little picture, and for the big picture. The Encyclopedia sized history books of the second and third millennium…!!! Oh there she is, Anja Natasha in all four books.
Our hero Anja Natasha. On May 20th, 2008, the Dismal Euphony Anja Natasaha-era was re-edition by Metal Mind Poland. And when I rate that album. It will be rated as a best re editon of all time, a top 100 re edition of all time, easily.
Now the band Dismal Euphony has 4 Essential purchases, for the decade called 2000. Lady Ablaze, Lady Ablaze VHS, Python Zero, “All Little Devils/ Python Zero” double disc on GOLD DISC, released on May 20th, 2008, via Metal Mind Productions Poland.

Ha, you were partying like it was 1999, 2000, and 2001…and you had nostalgia for the good old days, and have a favorite vocalist Anja Natasha, and thinking whoa, what ever happened to….and you do a goggle search and BAM, whoa….Anja Natasha is alive and well…and just like during the golden era of Norwegian Gothic Rock and Gothic Metal 1993-2003…Anja Natasha is a DIVA…which means a distinguished (aka WORLD CLASS) female singer.

Dismal Euphony were already a legendary band when Keltziva was the female vocalist…but with the addition of Anja Natasha as the new vocalist, in 1999. Gothic Rock / Gothic Metal, fans ended up with 4 Anja Natasha-era releases that are total “must haves”.
So i made this video compilation, because it is the album I have been waiting for for around a dozen years now. I would love to see the idea of this tribute page pressed onto a DVD one day…!!!

This is not a record review…since they are one of the Greatest Bands off all time. It is a write up word for word of the essay found in Panel 2 of a 6 panel CD, of a 2 DISC set…The Author Is Unknown to me. But his write up is pure genius.
In the history of gothic metal not man groups managed to deliver such skillful combination of genres as Dismal Euphony from Stavanger, Norway.
There unique mixture of death and black metal, pop, psychedelic and classical motives brought a collection of unforgettable recordings, taking the Gothenburg sound to a whole new level.
This double re-release of “ALL LITTLE DEVILS” and “PYTHON ZERO” introduces two of the band’s finest works, containing songs that will take you all the way into the heart of darkness…
The history of Dismal Euphony dates back to 1992, when bassist Ole K. Helgesen and drumme Kristoffer Void Austrheim decided to join forces and form a band together.
Soon Under the moniker Headless Children they were playing cover versions of songs by Kreator and Slayer.
That lasted until a year later, when singer Erik Borgen and guitarist Kenneth Bergsagel were added to the line-up.
The band changed there name to Carnal Tomb and began working on their own material.
In the meantime Erik Borgen decided to quite the band and the vocal duties were passed on to Helgesen, which was soon backed by female vocalist Lin Achre Tveit (Keltiziva) .
Adding keyboardist Elin Overskott completed the final line-up of the groupd which ultimately resurfaced in 1995 bearing the name Dismal Euphony.
In the same year the group recorded and self-released the demo “Spellbound”
The release caught the attention of Napalm Records and after a three=song self=titled EP, Dismal Euphony recorded their debut LP entitled “Soria Moria Slott.
This material contained mostly pure black metal and gothic ideas, however the follow-up album “Autumn Leaves: The Rebellion of Tides” 1997 showcased some unique variety of styles, taking the bands music in a whole new direction.
The Group recorded a 5 track EP called “Lady Ablaze” which featured new female vocalist Anja Natasha.
Surprisingly, the EP was not released until the year 2000.
In 1999 Dismal Euphony signed a deal with Nuclear Blast and released there third LP “All Little Devils”.
From the very first note it was clear that with this album the group reached the peaks of creativity.
The brilliantly composed material offered a great variety of inspirations, all sustained in the enchanting gothic mood.
The vocal combination of female and male voices gave a very impressive result, best hear in truly outstanding songs such as “Day of Sodom”, “Lunatic”, and “Pyscho Path”.
Many critics compared “All Little Devils”, with early The Gathering, Lacuna Coil and Nightwish, underlining, however, that Dismal Euphony managed to establish a style of their own.
The album is closed with a gentle orchestral track called “Dead Words”, where the subtle piano tones drag the listenre deep into the silent darkness…
The follow-up to “All Little Devils” was released in 2001 and marked another step in the band’s evolution.
“Python Zero” featured a great amount of psychedelic and electronica motives added to the music.
They were still delivering some heavy tunes (such as “Plasma Pool”, “Python Zero”, “Critical Mass” and “Zentinel”), but in the same time weren’t afraid of avant-garde experimentation (Magma” Birth Reverse” “Needle”.)
The resulted in one of the most fascinating goth/ metal hybrids ever created.
“Python Zero” is still considered some of the finest gothic songs in the history of the genre.
Unfortunately, Dismal Euphony disbanded after releasing their masterpiece.
All the group’s members decided to part with the music industry, while drummer Kristoffer Void Austheim became a session musician for the Norwegian black metal band Nettlecarier.
In 2004 the group syffered a “post-mortem” tragedy, as keyboardist Elin Overskott was found dead from a heroin overdose.
“All little Devils” and “Python Zero” remained Dismal Euphony’s most valuable creations, offering top quality gothich metal which will suit even the most demanding musical connoisseur.

There is nothing more KICK*ASS*METAL in my collection that rules like the Anja Natasha – era Dismal Euphony…but since I will be doing a chapter, in a collectors book on the Anja Natasha-era of Dismal Euphony. Everyone needs to remember that the band was already a legendary and heavy metal hall of fame gothic metal band during the Keltiziva – era of Dismal Euphony. So when I do my top 500 albums of all time. I will be listing Dismal Euphony for 5 classic Norwegian Gothic Metal releases. The band is so unique, they deserve to be listed in a chapter on Norwegian Gothic Metal, Norwegian Symphonic Black Metal, and as a avant-garde metal legend…This band pre-dates the current avant-garde metal movement by 3 years….the band was ahead of its time in a huge way. And Dismal Euphony deserves nothing but trust and respect, from the metal movement !!!
I worship heavy metal at the altar of Anja Natasha – era Dismal Euphony ..!!!
The band is so on target taste (Norwegian gothic, Norwegian black, Norwegian avant-garde, Symphonic, Gothic, symphonic with electronica, beauty and the beast vocal configuriation), to what I do over here at KICK*ASS*METAL, the Python Zero press photo of the Anja Natasha – era of the band hangs in my music library…DO YOU GOTH WHAT IT TAKES…Oh yeah they do. And for this Dismal Euphony is a GODSEND to all fans of gothic classical music, gothic avant-garde classical music, gothic avant-garde rock and metal, gothic rock and gothic metal.
Norway is only 4% of the world’s population, and since say 1993 40% of the classic albums in all sub-genres of heavy metal comes from this Country.

There is nothing more KICK*ASS*METAL in my collection that rules like the Anja Natasha – era Dismal Euphony…but since I will be doing a chapter, in a collectors book on the Anja Natasha-era of Dismal Euphony. Everyone needs to remember that the band was already a legendary and heavy metal hall of fame gothic metal band during the Keltiziva – era of Dismal Euphony. So when I do my top 500 albums of all time. I will be listing Dismal Euphony for 5 classic Norwegian Gothic Metal releases. The band is so unique, they deserve to be listed in a chapter on Norwegian Gothic Metal, Norwegian Symphonic Black Metal, and as a avant-garde metal legend…This band pre-dates the current avant-garde metal movement by 3 years….the band was ahead of its time in a huge way. And Dismal Euphony deserves nothing but trust and respect, from the metal movement !!!
I worship heavy metal at the altar of Anja Natasha – era Dismal Euphony ..!!!
The band is so on target taste (Norwegian gothic, Norwegian black, Norwegian avant-garde, Symphonic, Gothic, symphonic with electronica, beauty and the beast vocal configuriation), to what I do over here at KICK*ASS*METAL, the Python Zero press photo of the Anja Natasha – era of the band hangs in my music library…DO YOU GOTH WHAT IT TAKES…Oh yeah they do. And for this Dismal Euphony is a GODSEND to all fans of gothic classical music, gothic avant-garde classical music, gothic avant-garde rock and metal, gothic rock and gothic metal.
Norway is only 4% of the world’s population, and since say 1993 40% of the classic albums in all sub-genres of heavy metal comes from this Country.
