All female power thrash metal trio from São Paulo, formed by Fernanda Lira (bass and vocals), Prika Amaral (guitar and backing vocals) and Luana Dametto (drums).

Despite being part of bands from different styles previously, like death metal and crossover, all members see in the compositions of Nervosa a same passion: thrash metal. With strong influences coming from bands of this genre’s classic school, the girls of the band seek to rescue the best in heavy music.

Prika Amaral started the band in February 2010, and in July 2011 Fernanda Lira took on the bass and vocals of NERVOSA, and only then, finally with the full team, the band started working as a professional band – writing songs, recording, playing shows.

In March 2012, the band released their first music video for “Masked Betrayer,” which reached the incredible mark, for a new band, of 20,000 views in just one week, prompting them to receive an Honorable Mention from YouTube, as the 17th most watched clip of musicians of the week and 55th most viewed in the month of March of that year.

Thanks to the notoriety gained through their hard work, NERVOSA in the following months, achieved a great accomplishment: the contract with the Austrian label Napalm Records, which has in their roster names like Cavalera Conspiracy, WASP, Grave Digger, Moonspell, Huntress, among many others.

Still in 2012, the band’s first record, a demo with 3 tracks, was released in Brazil on CD independently, under the title ’2012′ in August, and abroad by Napalm Records on turquoise vinyl, and by Nuclear Blast in a clear version, both under the title ‘Time Of Death’, whose cover art was designed by artist Andrei Bouzikov, who has worked with several bands previously, such as Municipal Waste.

Nervosa ends the year 2012 with a very positive balance with more than 50 concerts made around the country, among them, sharing the stage with bands like Exodus, Raven, Grave, Samael (in the festival Roça n Roll), Exumer and Artillery , among others.

After a period of exchanging drummers, the one who assumed the position in February of 2013 was Pitchu Ferraz.

Thus, the year 2013 began with a renewed vibe, and the band continued to promote their EP throughout the country, with shows in several states, and even a tour over the North and Northeast of the country, as well as sharing the stage with other great Names of the world scene such as Korzus, Ratos de Porão and also Destruction, Exciter, Blaze Bayley, Kreator, DRI And Benediction.

In 2014, the girls finished the recording of their first full lenght, titled Victim of Yourself, which had 12 tracks and whose cover was signed again by the artist Andrei Bouzikov, and the booklet was produced by the Brazilian artist Rafael Romanelli.

The album was released in March of that same year by Napalm Records in Europe and North America, and by other record companies and distributors in South America, Japan and Russia. In addition to the traditional CD format, 4 vinyl versions were also released – in black, blue, red and clear colors, distributed by Napalm Records itself and also by Nuclear Blast.

Two clips were released throughout the album’s promotion: ‘Death!’, which achieved record-breaking views among the band’s videos (over 1 million views), and ‘Into Moshpit’, a live video compilation that demonstrates all the energy of the girls in a live show.

These two singles, added to the other tracks of the album, made ‘Victim of Yourself’ reach great response from the metal audience, as well as prominence and good ratings in major magazines in the segment around the world, such as European Metal Hammer, Rock Hard , Terrorizer and Bass Guitar, the American Revolver and Guitar World and even the Japanese Burrrn, as well as the Brazilian Roadie Crew, Bass Player, Guitar Player and Modern Drummer magazines.

The good reception of the album was essential to result in a long and intense tour that lasted for the years 2014 and 2015. To promote the album in Brazil, the band played in 17 states, went through 7 countries in Latin America and made a A successful European tour with 51 shows in 60 days, including a total of 16 countries in the continent, including performances at some of Europe’s biggest summer festivals such as Summerbreeze, Brutal Assault, Metal Days, Obscene Extreme, among others.

The ‘Victim of Yourself’ promotion tour also took the band to the United States for the first time in 2016. Starting with two presentations on the already traditional ’70000 tons of metal’ cruise, leaving from Florida and going to Jamaica, the tour also passed through much of the West Coast of the country and also to the South, with more than 30 concerts from the state of Washington all the way to the state of Florida. In addition, other new territories were explored by Nervosa, such as Mexico, where the band toured for two weeks, and other locations such as Puerto Rico and Peru.

In 2016, the band recorded their new album, titled ‘Agony’. Recorded and produced in the states of California and Oregon in the United States by Brendan Duffey and mixed and mastered by thrash master Andy Classen, the album had its world premiere announced for June 3 by the Austrian label Napalm Records.

This same year was also very intense regarding shows to promote their latest album: there were more than 160 shows only in 2016.

‘Agony’ promotion tours include a European summer tour with almost 50 dates, a full month of shows on the US East Coast and also in Canada, as well as two European tours as special guests of the German band Destruction for a total of almost 60 shows, part of them being alongside the great bands Flotsam & Jetsam and Enforcer.

In 2017, who officially takes over the drums of the band is the competent Luana Dametto, who already joins it participating in the writing of the new NERVOSA album, scheduled to be out in 2018, and also facing the second leg of Agony promotion tours.

The ‘World in Agony Tour’ will be a tour that aims exploring several countries and continents around the world. So far are already announced the legs in Brazil (which has been taking place since February this year), in Mexico and Central America in May and June and in Europe during the months of July, August and part of September. In addition, plans are already being worked out to take the tour back to the US and Canada, as well as to South America and also in new territories, such as Asia.

Abnormality

(Marlborough, Massachusetts)

DEATH METAL GODS AND DEATH METAL LEGENDS

Marlborough, Massachusetts

featuring World-Class Vocalist Mallika Sundrmurthy

“Mechanisms of Omniscience”

TOP 10 HEAVY METAL/DEATH METAL ALBUM OF ALL-TIME

APRIL 29TH, 2016

KICK*ASS*METAL HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME ALBUM

Collectors Corner feature is where we look at the actual gold standard of actual heavy metal, and compare it to the revisionism of the record reviews on the internet, because most writers for most webzines, never read a heavy metal publication from 1980 to 2003. So what they write compared to the actaul heavy metal press, is no where even close to the truth of how heavy metal history was recorded, so they are going to talk about the first 80,ooo bands in heavy metal history with nothing but wild guessing and hope no one notices that they are full of shit, and will never be the World’s Greatest Death Metal Vocalist or the World’s Greatest Death Metal band of all-time, of course the Greatest Death Metal Vocalist of all-time is Mallika Sundaramurthy, and currently Abnormality has the #1 ranking / rating as the greatest Death Metal band heavy metal community, for over 5 years from now….!!!!!!!!!

Someone at Metal Archives must know this, they own a metal webZine right??? Can any one over there produced the few thousand fanzines, the actual influential ones, of how heavy metal history has been recorded since 1980. Or is it cool just to say fuck it, the internet is new, lets just guess on everything, on other that the fact, none of the metal archives writes have a fucking clue of what they are talking about, i would not be shocked if they decided at metal archives to remove the Black Sabbath page, based on all the nonsense that goes on over there, just reviews by the hundreds of thousands, but it is more than obvious no one over there ever had a top 100 album of any year, and this has to be just the jealousy factor and nothing else…..!!!!

For those new to heavy metal. Heavy Metal has been in a Golden Age of True Metal for going on now for 5 years, and while this publication has March 1st, 2013 as the starting date of this age, but in reality is it’s on May 24th, 2012 when Abnormality “Contaminating the Hive Mind” was unleashed on Planet Metal, featuring the greatest death metal vocalist of the 21st century and since we revoted on this fact, Mallika Sundramurthy has been the greatest DEATH METAL VOCALIST OF ALL-TIME, since May 24th, 2014.

And if the Metal Archives writers were actually paying attention they would have realized in 2016 THE GREATEST THRASH METAL VOCALIST, Fernanda Lira * Nervosa FAME & HEAVY METAL LEGEND  and THE GREATEST DEATH METAL VOCALIST of all-time battled it out for the 2016 HEAVY METAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR. It was a close vote, but we went with Nervosa “Agony”……but keep in mind Abnormality is the band to watch for the album of the year when they unleash upon planet metal their next splatter platter….!!!!!!!!!!!

So just because he wrote his review the day of the day the album was released, it still comes under the revisionism realm of journalism, because not know what the fuck he was writing, they has the strange and bizarre inspiration to give it a 73 out of 100, which is pretty close (sarcasm), how in the fuck can a current top 100 death metal/ top heavy metal album of all-time get a 73 out 100. Trust me anyone can get a metal archives account and publish anything they want for any reason, that publication has the stupidity to have a Blink182 fan publish a Metallica “Master of Puppets” 0 out of 100 rating score..!!! And that says everything about metal archives and 100% of the webZines who never had a print edition during the golden ages of heavy metal.

I don’t have to read his strange and bizarre review, i just looked at the score on the internet and looked at score that was recorded in history, in the actual heavy metal community, by the actual heavy metal press.

Who ever wrote that review is going to be shocked to shit, that this MELODIC METAL publication, has a KICK*ASS*METAL HALL OF FAME Wing dedicated to the Death Metal legend….!!!!!!!

You can laugh and pretend that his score is correct, but if you go up against Abnormality, trust me on this, you have zero chance to maybe 9 percent of defeating Abnormality, they are the greatest death metal bands on the planet since 2005 they have been mastering there craft…..!!!!!

For those who know heavy metal you already have 6, 12, 20, 30 copies of this album for your personal collection, for those who were stupid enough to believe that bullshit review, that reviewer fucked you out of $180 of Abnormality CD’s and a hundred dollars in tShirts you did not buy, just reading that one review you got robbed out of a 1/2 a paycheck $300….. since you skipped over a top 10 death metal album of all-time, what ever you bought in it place, is no where at the world-class level of Abnormality “Mechanisms of Omniscience”, even as a casual fan of heavy metal buying 20 CD’s a week, that will be 50,000 albums as a laid-back causal fan 5,000 will be your collection from BIRTH * LIFE * HEAVY METAL *DEATH……!!!!!!!!!!!

If for some strange and bizarre reason you do not have the Abnormality back catalog, make that your next add to collection task and goal, it is bat-shit insane not to have 2 of the top 100 heavy metal/death metal albums of all-time in your album collection!!!!!!

If any publcation does not have

Abnoramality “Contaminating the Hive Mind”

Abnormality “Mechanism of Omniscience”

In either there top 100 heavy metal/death metal albums of all-time list just stop reading them!!!!!!!!

Oh and  besides having 2 of the greatest death metal albums of all-time in her actual history, and having a HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME WING OF WORLD-CLASS DEATH METAL VOCALIST NAME IN HER HONOR, Mallika Sundramurthy also runs one of the greatest death metal labels of all-time also, …not bad having all those accomplishments and running a top-notch record label…not bad huh????????????  AND THERE IS MORE “Mallika Sundramurthy was a professional graphic and concept artist in the video game industry, working for Harmonix Music Systems. She is currently a freelance artist”…..

https://www.ultimatemassacre.com

maybe fuck all the webzines, and everyone just do their own research, the metal community can only give you the truth on this band being the gold standard in death metal for over 5 years as of December 6th, 2017, now…..what do i got to do? the research, buy the fucking albums, and put them in your fucking collection, what else can we do !!! We did our part

WAKE THE FUCK UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The part of all this that is going to blow your fucking mind, this is a Gothic metal/ avant -garde/ melodic metal / dark glam metal / Gothic symphonic metal publication, i can figure that Abormailty has 2 of the greatest death metal albums of all-time and Mallika Sundramurthy is the GREATEST DEATH METAL VOCALIST OF all-time, so if the dude wearing The Gathering “Mandylion” t-Shirt can figure this out….why can’t you!!!!!

I may have failed Abnormality for not point out this  liable/ slander against them back then, when this revisionism occurred, but where I did not fail this band is that there is a MALLIKA SUNDRAMURTHY KICK*ASS*METAL DEATH METAL HALL OF FAME WING IN HER HONOR, and accomplishments like facts like that is something no-one can ever take away from the achievers in this World……!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who want to scribble reviews or whatever, the true metal genre is 37 years old, go back to underground year-zero day 1, and grow from there instead of buying the stuff around now-days and just wild guess how history happened.

TOP 100 DEATH METAL ALBUMS OF ALL TIME

Abnormality “Contaminating the Mind Hive”

Abnormality “Mechanisms of Omniscience”

There are two the first 2 are free !!!!! Do some independent research, and learn what a riff is before you even try to just RIFF LORDS AND METAL GODS AND METAL LEGENDS !!!!!!!!!!!

Lets spin the Metal Archives review wheel it is just the greatest death metal vocalist of all-time and the successor album to the most important death metal album of the 21st century…..whoa……..cool dude a 30 out of 100!!!! lets publish that on the metal archives dude !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH HEAVY METAL BIBLE CHAPTER ABNORMALITY ….GOD DAM RIGHT….FUCK IT SHOULD BE CHAPTERS 1 OR CHAPTERS 2 TO SAY THE FUCKING LEAST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abnormailty Bio

The fertile east coast death metal scene has poured forth some seriously formidable bands over the last decade, but there are few that can match the sheer visceral power and razor-sharp songwriting skills of Marlborough, Massachusetts’ Abnormality. Marrying the ceaseless brutality coming out of New York and New England to the hyper-blasting intensity endemic to Quebecois death metal, the quintet deliver music that is as unrelenting as it is passionate, and with their second full-length, Mechanisms Of Omniscience, they deliver a defiant blow. “The album is total death metal, no bullshit, no fancy shine. This is an album for the blue-collar worker who’s killing him or herself to live, and the kid stuck at home who’s listening on headphones,” states bassist Josh Staples. Moreover, tackling real world issues with intelligence and raw emotion, they create music that both moves and matters. “I am interested in the true nature of the world, the power structure and why the world is the way it is. There are many illusions out there, or blatant lies, rewritten history, and I do my own investigations and attempt to see through falsities. I want to know about human nature, how and why people can be cruel to each other, and why there is so much suffering in the world,” states vocalist Mallika Sundaramurthy, who splits lyric writing duties with drummer Jay Blaisdell. “We write about the destruction of humanity, but we are not for the destruction of humanity.”

Formed in 2005, the band drew its members from the ranks of units such as Teratism, Forced Asphyxiation, Goratory and Sexcrement, and they have worked patiently and persistently to build up a grassroots following, maintaining their integrity while steadily expanding beyond their local scene. While initially envisaged as a side project between Sundaramurthy, Blaisdell and guitarist Jeremy Henry, their intent was to write high quality, technical and heavy music, and as this crystallized a desire to bombard audiences grew. In 2010 they dropped their debut EP The Collective Calm In Mortal Oblivion, which immediately drew attention in the underground, followed by the crushing and critically acclaimed full-length Contaminating The Hive Mind in 2012, cementing their status as one of the heaviest and most dynamic bands in the genre. Importantly, the band have also grown with every release. “Each album has its own feeling and its own variations but remains rooted in the core Abnormality sound,” Sundaramurthy says. “An album documents where we were at in that time and space, what we were thinking and what inspired us then, including world events, politics, and things in our personal lives. There are some consistent elements throughout the discography, but certainly there is an evolution you can follow if you listen to our music chronologically.”

Embracing their network of fans, they have toured extensively and proved themselves a dominating force no matter what size stage they play on, performing from coast to coast and border to border, as well as racking up festival appearances in the United States, Colombia, and Europe. In 2014 they tore up the continent while on the road with Dehumanized, Malignancy and Beneath, and their appearance at The Netherlands’ Neurotic Deathfest was a highpoint for the band. Disinterested in flash-in-the-pan popularity, the band focused on building momentum organically, their reputation growing both through word of mouth and via the many videos posted on YouTube, including the eerie clip for “Monarch Omega”, which has racked up almost 2 million views. With such a fervent following, the band remain fiercely loyal to their fans, reciprocating the love and devotion shown them. “The people who have been with us and supported us from the beginning, it’s crucial to us,” states Henry. “Contrary to popular belief, being a musician in today’s day and age is a shitty prospect. The sacrifices made are overwhelming at times, but it’s those people offering their support that keep you motivated and moving forward, and believing that what you are doing is worthwhile despite an increasingly materialistic and shallow society.”

While 2016 marks the 11th year of Abnormality’s existence, the savage anger and urgency driving Mechanisms Of Omniscience is the sound of the hungriest of bands, generating an intoxicating energy. With the lineup solidifying with recent addition Sam Kirsch on guitar, the band approached the follow-up to Contaminating The Hive Mind with the intent of moving their sound forward, and utilizing the skills of every member of the band has always been important to the Abnormality creative process. “Our newest member, Sam, gave us a new perspective and influence,” adds Henry. “Everyone contributes to the writing process, and it was only natural that someone coming from a different place musically would have an impact on the end result. I think the push and pull from our members’ differing opinions and musical influences lend itself to the musical compositions evolving from song to song and record to record.” This approach ensures that only the strongest emotions are pushed to the surface. Through focusing on individual songs rather than planning out a whole album in advance, it makes for more potent and dynamic songwriting, and by the time they headed into the studio with longtime producer Peter Rutcho, they had ten killer tracks ready to be laid down. “Rutcho has been with us for years now, and that type of familiarity and comfort level cannot be replaced,” says Henry. “He knows all of us in and out, all of our flaws and strengths. He really put his mark on this record as well– there was a lot of sonic production that went into it where his creativity was crucial.” The result of this meeting of minds really does see the band elevated to the proverbial next level. The floodgates open with “Swarm”, a frenzied and contorted sonic assault that destroys everything in its path, and from there on out they don’t let up. Music is rarely uglier or more scathing than that unleashed on “Irreversible”; the grooves and atmospheric textures blended with unrepentant hostility on “Synthetic Pathogenesis” are almost overwhelming, and by the time apocalyptic closer “Consuming Infinity” collapses under its sheer sonic weight, the listener is left feeling brutalized. Still, the music is only part of the picture, and every lyric Sundaramurthy wraps her ferocious roar around is rooted in the ideology of the band. At the core of this is the title track, penned by Blaisdell. “The chorus is ‘The abuse absolute, like a tumor you can’t remove, this cancer spreads to every organ. This prison we live in, mechanisms of omniscience, relying on uniform ignorance’, and the song is about the well established order of control and power in the world,” the drummer explains. “It’s about the people who have the real power and their means and methods of control over us, and how those methods require a level of ignorance on our part in order to be successful. The methods, or mechanisms, exist in many forms. It’s unavoidable and invasive. From the endless wars and atrocities, to the fractional reserve debt slavery, the rigged elections and the criminals who are supposed to represent us, or the blatant spying on everyone and everything by intelligence agencies that are completely out of control. These are just a few of many enormous problems that have grown beyond repair. Mechanisms Of Omniscience is about a monolithic system of control that is so advanced that it not only successfully ensures the same sadistic fucks maintain the power and control they’ve always had, it also does this while convincing everyone else to enjoy their own subjugation, the illusion of being free.” Sundaramurthy concurs with this, and all of the lyrics she writes come from a similarly critical stance, cutting through the lies, and dissecting complex issues without flinching– yet while there are elements of bleakness to this, it is not the whole picture. “My lyrics are rooted in realism, investigation of our reality, spirituality, with a tinge of idealism. I’m curious about where humans came from, where civilization is going, and all the darkness that goes along with those things. I like to look straight into the void of reality, past, present and future, and not shy away from it. Though this may sound nihilistic, I stand for finding and speaking truth, however dreadful it may be. I believe in morality, and in helping the oppressed and voiceless.”

Adding a further dimension to the album’s impact is the artwork, which was also created by Sundaramurthy. While embodying an old school spirit there is something immediate and contemporary about it, encapsulating the violence of the music beyond this image. “I am inspired by old school death metal album covers and also dark fantasy and surrealist artists, such as Zdzisław Beksiński, Wayne Barlowe, and Dan Seagrave, and I went for an abstract approach with the album cover. It is meant to represent the dark emotions and cover some different themes throughout the album songs.”

Armed with the record, and thrilled to have Metal Blade behind them, the band have never been as serious about getting their message out there, as well as ensuring legions of the moshing masses incur whiplash, bloody noses and blown MCLs in the best way possible. While they are understandably proud of the hard work they have put in over the years and the finished product that is Mechanisms Of Omniscience, in many ways they are just getting started. “We would like to keep evolving our brand of aggressive, technical, yet atmospheric death metal into new and unexplored territory,” says Sundaramurthy, but their intentions go much deeper than this, and she makes it clear that the drive and purpose pushing the members of Abnormality has never been more urgent. “The American dream is dead, illusions and fallacies are being exposed; the masses have been sold out to the corporate elite, the planet is being ransacked, and we’re all fucked. We have never been more pissed off and inspired to spread our music and our vision of the brutal realities of our world. The machine that is Abnormality has only gotten stronger and louder over the years. We won’t let up until we leave our mark on the metal scene, and the world.”

When looking through the heavy metal hall of fame, aka your personal library, the one I am talking about is the 33,000 square feet library with the top 100 to top 700 classical/ metal/gothic/avant-garde albums of all-time.

If you arrange them by importance in chronology, this is a top 10 most important heavy metal album, in the top 100 heavy metal albums of all-time.

1980s’ metal starts of with the first classic

Rush “Permanent Waves ” unleashed on planet metal on January lst, 1980

Then the next most important one after that is Tygers of Pan Tang “Wild Cat”

This list is the beginning of the top 100 heavy metal albums of all-time from January 1st, 1980 to October 31st, 1983 with a couple of November outliers. The albums which are top 100 albums but in the second part of that list are not on this list, check elsewhere on these pages. I always tell the KICK ASS METAL readers I meet in public, who recognize me at concerts, around town or at the record shoppe, build your record collection backwards, since it is November 21st, 2017 start with the 2017 albums of the year list first. Or if you get the inspiration you can start from underground year zero day one. So I have seen this album get strange and bizarre treatment from the revisionist metal armada, aka the publications NOW who never had a print edition during the golden age of heavy metal. August 1st 1981 to October 31st 1986. Keep in mind the original top 100 list for this publication the list being first made in 1983 and updated 1984/1985/1986/1987/1988……til 1997, the people who worked on that were the top 700 heavy metal fans world-wide, and if you were not around then, you obviously are not really allowed/eligible to speak on this subject really, and of course, you can never get a job here, and you imput hurts the actual heavy metal genre, more than all the eBay scams that go on at METAL ARCHIVES…..so I do read most serious heavy metal publications, but if you have some revisionist bent…then it is just entertainment and not actual heavy metal journalism. The secret to this album, is that Kate De Lombaert is 110% percent more authentic than all the so-called “top 100” albums listed as false inclusions in the revisionist press. And this album is more heavier than all of the over-rated “underground classics” the over-rated ones from the era, that has its nostalgia press that is only nostalgia and revisionism, the 1992-1994-era, that the heavy metal community never took serious in the first place. Most genres take 9 years to go off the rails, but that wave only lasted two years….!! Anyhow it is 2017 and this album spirit is championed all over the 2017 TOP 100 HEAVY METAL ALBUMS, list. Again this is THE GOLD STANDARD ALBUM WHICH YOU ARE JUDEGED AGAINST, and your ignorance is bliss, and puts you in the 15%-tile range, at the #17,555 ranking out of 117,000 artist who are covered in the actual heavy metal press. Myself I only can purchase 2,000 albums a year, and the bands give me another 1,000 to cover, but I collect classical/avant-garde/gothic/metal evenly, so your raking of #17,555 is no where near my 700 to 100 heavy metal albums I can purchase every year…..so learn the gold standard and become the new gold standard, or you can just be over-rated in the revisionist press, and your stuff end up in second hand stores, where those stores will have to give them to delete bin outlets…..!!!! Will have to revisit this albums soon !!!!!! This album needs to be repressed every year in heavy metal !!!!

When it comes to the best of the best albums in heavy metal of all-time…..I always am drawn to the ones with the MOST FUCKING KILLER GUITAR TONE, and those albums that give me the spine-chilling goose bumps, all over and running up and down my spine…..!!!!!!!!!!! For those who are new to heavy metal, those starting out in 2015 2016, 2017, I have always recommended, to get the best albums from the current era first !!! ……and 2017 has been ONE OF THE BEST YEARS since I have started with Heavy Metal in the summer of 1978….!!

“My goal has been to write catchy songs with hooks that will haunt your dreams, and I think it’s pretty much ‘mission accomplished.” quote, unquote  Heavy Metal Legend Jani Liimatainen

Oh that fact….whoa….mission accomplished, and the results for the KICK ASS METAL team are heavier and more KICK ASS than expected….!!!

I have no problems putting this in the CDplayer in my car, right in heavy play list rotation alongside ManOwaR “Fighting The World” and the Debut Metal Church “Metal Church” CD…..everyone thinks we listen to Slayer, Razor, Exodus, Nervosa, The Kovenant, Jack*Off*Jill all day….well because we do. But during the golden ages in heavy metal, there have been dozens, if you know what the fuck is happening on Planet Metal….!!!!! And right now since around October 31st, 2012, I noticed a new GOLDEN AGE in Heavy Metal, and this era has been documented here exclusively and extensively.

For those new to heavy metal, and you have been a fan a week, or a month, and know everything, because you read the fake news/ historical revisionism part of the heavy metal community…..I will just say straight away go buy every fanzine ever written from 1980 to 2002, when the print media was all the rage, and because everyone knew then the internet writers were the dudes who could never ever get a job for a actual fanzine…..and pick up any heavy metal history book, from the golden age of heavy metal the golden age from 1994 to 2003, and you going to noticed Nightwish in every single heavy metal serious publication, in either a write-up, interview or record review…..!!! For this Golden Age of Heavy Metal, Nightwish left one of the biggest indelible marks on every serious heavy metal publication world-wide. I will have to revisit the history book by Gary Sharp-Young, and make sure he gave Nightwish the justice, trust, respect that they earned since the debut album was unleashed on Planet Metal on November 1st, 1997……!!!! And if his writer’s  tone is strange and bizarre, then I will have to fix that wild fuck-up, but I know he was objective on the upper-tier of heavy metal’s gold standard. The Gold Standard in heavy metal this word is a noun, it just means

“the best, most reliable, or most prestigious thing of its type.”

Right now were talking about The Dark Element “The Dark Element” album  and I say this a lot there are certain albums in which heavy metal hall of fames, and altars of metallic mayhem are built around…. I have various music libraries in my house, I have a top 100 album stack in my collection a top 666 album stack, and a HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME, albums. For now this will go into the HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME stack, as well as the regular record collection stack, lets see if a higher ascension happens for this album….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea how high this album will rank in the actual heavy metal community and in the SYMPHONIC HEAVY METAL category, but for sure this is the FRONTRUNNER FOR THE Symphonic Metal album of the year, heavy metal 2017……I get asked all the time if this is a GOTHIC METAL age and a AVANT-GARDE METAL age publication “what the hell and what the fuck” is a symphonic metaller heavy as fuck band feature here. Those who are unaware of Heavy Metal History, there are a few albums that are progenitors, too two genres…..Avant-Garde Metal / Gothic Metal / Symphonic Metal has a couple of albums in common……there are here mention elsewhere in this publications and all serious heavy metal publications….Celtic Frost “Into The Pandemonium” * The 3rd and the Mortal “Tears Laid In Earth” * The 3rd the Mortal “Painting of Glass”.

As far as the metallic mayhem goes, this album features everything a heavy metal fan “claims” that what they want in heavy metal albums, this album has tons of KILLER RIFFS, HOOKS THAT WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU, AUTHENTICITY, INTEGRITY, ORIGINALITY, FIST BANGING FIST PUMPING RIFFS, STUNNING LEADS, BOMBASTIC RHYTHM SECTION, A WORLD-CLASS VOCALIST who can sing, with talent passion, power, charisma, and sings with clarity having perfect enunciation and perfect pronunciation…….!!!!!!

So with all subjective/objective…nah, I am a subjective only writer……the only one honest about that fact. This album give me the “goosebumps” “jaw-dropping”, “mind-blowing” KICK ASS….this would be a KILLER ALBUM in its own right, but since I get “goosebumps” from the melodies and the guitar solos, and perfect perfection, this Is what pushes this album in the mere upper 99.0% to the upper 99,9% of all metallic mayhem of all-time.

This is one of those albums which needs to be in each house you own, if no summer vacations homes, get a military footlocker and throw your top 700 albums of all-time, and toss a couple of this album in that back-up collection….!!!!!!!

With a mind-blowing KILLER METAL AS FUCK album cover, this is a FUCKING ESSENTIAL PURCHASE !!!

KICK ASS METAL RATING

100 OUT OF 100 BLOOD DRIPPING SKULLS — FUCKING ESSENTIAL

Everyone who knows heavy metal history from day 1 the beginning….that Motörhead, is one of the few bands that never-sold out….99.9% of the bands who are still around, who were “heavy metal” in the 1980’s are all gone, and if they are still around it is in a tribute band format, because most bands do not have the common sense if your going to sell-out, change the name of your band…!!! The Heavy Metal genre died a violent death August 11th, 1991 so none of that matters anyhow, with all the bay area thrash metal clubs closing, the alternative metal movement, and the neo-thrash/nu-metal movement…etc….!!! I started with heavy metal in 1978, so I got to see ALL the major metal bands sell-out 1st hand, which is kind of cool, selling out is just becoming what you hate in life the most….it is kind of cool to watch people self-destruct and unravel like that….everyone claiming they started POWER and THRASH bands, because of AOR radio, MTV and how they hated accessible music, only to become shameless corporate rock bands that they have become, hair cuts, logo changes, and what ever else the labels and management companies make them do !!!! …… ha ha…!!!

Once the marketers convinced you that playing simpler music for adult radio is progressing, unraveling is progressing…whoa!!! The other one where they got you is the if you stay true to yourself, well why would you want that ????  ha ha ….they just keep pulling fast ones on you…!!! Let me tell you right away if you apply that “logic” to real life situations like the military, you will get executed for treason!!!!

I know who sold-out and when, it don’t matter if was pretty cool to watch all the NWOBHM sell-out one by one, then the thrash metal bands most sold out by 1985, and the slow down syndrome by 1987 and GONE by August 11th, 1991…..pretty cool watching all those logo changes occurring/ hair cuts/ and shopping heroin chic…..Motörhead was never really a top 25 favorite, but a band that always got heavy rotation since 1980, and over the years, as bands descended, and off our want list, Motörhead ascended to the top of our want list….being one of the few bands from the 1980’s that never sold-out. Catching a band selling out is similar to how law enforcement official catch sex offenders and murders, it is abhorrent, very few people do it, and it is always shocking. Even it that stuff became legal, there will always be retribution, and street justice….. I could careless when bands sell out but it is always funny. watching all the business men destroy metal bands one after another, is quite funny after all those dudes claimed they were the most metal metallers ever….or most people just defend these bands, because they are of similar integrity challenged…!!!

So collecting 1980’s metal it is the rule of thumb years to watch out for are 1985, 1987, 1991….after 1991 pretty much all the bands are washed-up/ washed-out or completely rock and roll bands….!!!! Funny since those trends that affected them only last 5 years tops !!! No metal band ever switched styles to a less successful paying genre…this is a key fact….those who own them, know where the money is at. Every band how got hair cuts all sold-out, and none of them ever returned to form….even if they did, I never but them back on my want list, because for ever band that sold-out a hundred thousand did not !!

1990’s metal band do not have this problem, since those artist never had a AOR/Classic Rock radio phase growing up!!! There is a lot of heavy metal stamped all-over hard rock, and metal ran with that, but then wanted to stamp heavy metal with soft rock and hard rock, always making sure to make sure the music never had any intensity, or music virtuosity ….!! Once you start to get heavy just stop for a few seconds, and start back up soft and slow!!!

Since this album is a lot better than 99.9 of the bands marketed as “metal” “heavy metal”, no matter what the metal press champions, this is the real deal….pretty cool cover version on this “Breaking The Law” better than the original, not really difficult when you really think about it !!! 2 punk covers, a big Sex Pistols fan, since there debut was way more metal than 99.9 of the bands who were marketed as metal in the 1970’s and 1980’s….Love there version of “God Save the Queen”, love the Anthrax version a little more, because of Dan Spitz artwork. I love the song-writing “Twist” that is stamped on the song “Whiplash” this version sounds closer to Acid, than Metallica, where as the Lzzy Hale “Ride the Lightning” blows the Metallica version out of the water, because it is not really difficult to out class Metallica, in the first place, top 100 band of all-time, of the golden age, top 700 of all-time in the top 700….last place, just because who there fans are, and not the over-rating by those on the take, and agent provocateur publications . Metallica has never had a ranking higher than top#5, but that was back in July 27th, 1990….as they have back slide, others have ascended a million miles over those first 2 Metallica albums, again not really difficult when you really think about it !!

THIS NECKBREAKING NEWS FEATURE IS COURTESY OF RoadrunneR/Blabbermouth News Service

Death metal GODS AND HEAVY METAL LEGENDS MORBID ANGEL will UNLEASH upon planet metal their new album, “Kingdoms Disdained”, on December 1 via UDR Music. Recorded at Mana Recording in St. Petersburg, Florida with producer — and former MORBID ANGEL guitarist — Erik Rutan, the LP marks the band’s first release with drummer Scott Fuller (ANNIHILATED, ex-ABYSMAL DAWN) who joined MORBID ANGEL last year following the departure of Tim Yeung. It is also be MORBID ANGEL’s first album to feature bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker since 2003’s “Heretic”.

“Kingdoms Disdained” will include the song “Warped”, which MORBID ANGEL performed live on its recent U.S. tour.

Tucker, who is back for his third spell with the group, told “The Metal Magdalene With Jet” show about MORBID ANGEL’s approach on the upcoming album: “It was really just about writing music — it was just about writing a MORBID ANGEL album. Nobody said, ‘Hey, we wanna go in this direction,’ nobody said anything. I mean, there’s obvious things there. I’ve said it before — I’m a death metal guy, so, for me, it’s gonna be a death metal album; if I’m on it, it’s death metal. So it was just about making a MORBID ANGEL album. It was really about coming in with something new, something fresh, but yet it still being MORBID ANGEL. Really, honestly, we didn’t approach this any differently than any of the other albums I was involved in except for maybe [1998’s] ‘Formulas Fatal To The Flesh’, which ‘Formulas’, Trey [Azagthoth, guitar] wrote all the music, all the lyrics and things like that. But this was done more similar to maybe [2000’s] ‘Gateways To Annihilation’, where everybody had their contribution. Trey wrote a bunch of songs, I wrote songs, Scotty contributed some ideas. There was a lot of back-and-forth. In the end, it has to become a MORBID ANGEL song. And at this point, I feel that it’s very much a MORBID ANGEL album.”

MORBID ANGEL in January announced the addition of Dan Vadim Von (guitarist/frontman of the American death metal band VADIMVON) to the band’s lineup on second guitar. He joined the group as the replacement for Norwegian guitarist Destructhor (a.k.a. Thor Anders Myhren), who left the band two years ago.

Former MORBID ANGEL frontman David Vincent recently joined forces with several other musicians — including Yeung (drums) — to perform classic MORBID ANGEL songs under the I AM MORBID banner.

MORBID ANGEL’s avant-garde metal masterpiece 2011 album, “Illud Divinum Insanus”, marked the group’s first CD to feature Vincent since “Domination”.

The reason Morbid Angel is featured in these pages is because Morbid Angel is 30 years of the World’s Greatest Heavy Metal of all-time and one of the GREATEST HEAVY METAL BANDS OF ALL-TIME. Acutally the Morbid Angel album “Domination” is ranked/ rated as one of the GREATEST TRADITIONAL HEAVY METAL ALBUMS OF ALL-TIME, by hundreds of KICK ASS METAL staffers, but as the Boss, I have the Knowledge to Know that Crest of Darkness “The Ogress” is the greatest heavy metal album of all-time, which has been a undisputed fact @ KICK ASS METAL since it was unleashed upon Planet Metal, back in May 12th, 1999, KICK ASS METAL is a GOTHIC age/ Avant-Garde age/ Death Metal age publication and Crest of Darkness has all 3 of those factors to perfection…..so that is the objective/subjective aspect of that fact. Morbid Angel as a traditional heavy metal band, as well as a death metal band has 6 albums in the top 100 heavy metal albums of all-time, in the traditional metal realm, those album are Abominations of Desolation 1986/19991 — Altars of Madness — Blessed are the Sick — Covenant —- Domination and —- Entangled in Chaos, as a traditional metal and extreme metal fan, all of those 6 albums also belong on the top 100 extreme metal albums of all-time, also. As a Avant-Garde Age Publication, the Avant-Garde Metal Community championed the Avant-Garde Metal Timeless Masterpiece “Illud Divimum Insanus”….which that article has now been pulled but I have a photographic memory so I remember that article being published, because I have a print out of it as I went to the record store for that album, since it achieved the status of being, SUPREME IMMORATAL METALLIC ART OF THE HIGHEST ORDER FROM THE GOTHIC METAL/ AVANT-GARDE METAL COMMUNITY !!!! I have been going to the record store 3 to 4 times a week since October 1st, 1982, when I lived 3 blocks away, 900 feet awasy from a METAL ELITIST / METAL ONLY record shoppe !!!!!
Morbid Angel is one of the few artist from the GOLDEN AGE OF HEAVY METAL. AUGUST 1ST, 1981 TO OCTOBER 31ST, 1986, to be covered in these pages. Motörhead, Morbid Angel are two bands that never sold-out or washed-up and washed-out like every 1980’s heavy metal bands. 1980’s heavy metal artist could not cut it in the 1990’s…first wash-ups and sell-outs in 1985 and the genre being THE LAUGHING STOCK OF heavy metal community, skateboards and Bermuda shorts…etc….!!!  That is the reason the Death Metal age happened and is still the zeitgeist of the genre. And the Genre got a crushing blow When Metallica unleashed upon Planet GLAM METAL the timeless AOR/GLAM Metal masterpiece Metallica “Metallica” on August 12, 1991 the Mötley Crüe-esque Metallica “Metallica” even getting Mötley Crüe’s producer to achieve the AOR/Glam Metal/ Hair Metal/ Los Angels Metal sound and style…..As a Glam Metal fan I claim Metallica “Metallica” as one of our own….and appears on the top 100 GLAM METAL ALBUMS OF ALL-TIME LIST, and is a KICK ASS METAL HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME album in the GLAM METAL category. Most of the sell-out thrash metal albums are perfect for a GLAM METAL RECORD COLLECTION — Metallica “Metallica”, Megadeath “Countdown to Extinction” Testament “Practice What Your Preach”. As a gothic metal age publication there is no such thing as selling out in OUR genre, but Heavy Metal is the only genre where this phenomena/ selling out occurs….and seeing Metal bands sellout is not only fascinating, put kind of cool really seeing Metal bands cater to the people who hated them since day one, while betraying the fanbase who made them millions and legends in the first place. As a gothic metal fan, I know the difference between hard rock and heavy metal and gothic metal, and it is cool to watch almost every song-writer from the 1980’s to be fascinated with the Popular Culture song-writing formula. It still listen to Classical Music and Heavy Metal/ Gothic Metal 50/50. It helps keeps me geared toward the gothic/avant-garde side of heavy metal!! Keep in Mind Thrash Metal was already dead, wash-up, and sold-out long before Metallica released a album Metallica “Metallica” on August 12th, 1991…. which has more in common with Pantera’s “Power Metal” Mötley Crüe “Too Fast for Love”, Mötley Crüe “Shout at the Devil” and WASP “WASP” instead of Tyges of Pan Tang “WildCat”. Were just letting you know the actual subjective/objective facts as why Metallica was a KILLER METAL band for just say 5 years and Morbid Angel achieved 30 years of the greatest heavy metal band of all-time !!!

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA heavy metal rockers Lady Beast will be appearing on the television show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown on CNN during the episode airing on October 22, 2017.

The press release states:

“The Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown episode airing October 22, 2017 will feature a performance by Pittsburgh metal heroes Lady Beast.

Lady Beast has achieved global recognition for their hard hitting, DIY approach to traditional, NWOBHM inspired heavy metal, becoming torch bearers for the movement wherever they are heard. Fronted by bewitching performer Deb Levine and featuring the shredding twin guitar attack of Christopher ‘Twiz’ Trichler and Andy Ramage, the rhythm is held down by the World-Class bass of Greg Colazzi and drummer Adam Ramage’s speed metal metallic mayhem.

“We’re flying the flag for traditional heavy metal,” said Adam in the band’s March 2015 Pittsburgh City Paper cover story, and it is a point impossible to argue. Also seen in Bandcamp’s Twelve Metal Bands That Put the Emphasis on Shredding, webZines such as  KICK ASS METAL,  Metal Maidens…..  and having played with acts like St. Vitus, Deceased

Parts Unknown will show the world that Lady Beast have the chops to hold down the big stages and since Lady Beast is a top 100 heavy metal band and with the metal elite, in terms of authenticity, riffing abilities, song-writing and feature a World-Class Vocalist in Debroah Levine, and are a KICK ASS METAL HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME BAND, with 3 albums appearing in our top 100 albums, even making the top 100/top150 of all-time list!!!

Lady Beast’s catalog and merch can be found on Bandcamp, encompassing their albums Lady Beast, Lady Beast II, and the EP Metal Immortal. The band is primed and ready for their national TV debut, and will be putting the momentum into their upcoming full length Vicious Breed on Cruz de la Sur Music. Their music has garnered raves worldwide, but once experienced live metal fans will scream for more!
