When looking through the heavy metal hall of fame, aka your personal library, the one I am talking about is the 33,000 square feet library with the top 100 to top 700 classical/ metal/gothic/avant-garde albums of all-time.

If you arrange them by importance in chronology, this is a top 10 most important heavy metal album, in the top 100 heavy metal albums of all-time.

1980s’ metal starts of with the first classic

Rush “Permanent Waves ” unleashed on planet metal on January lst, 1980

Then the next most important one after that is Tygers of Pan Tang “Wild Cat”

This list is the beginning of the top 100 heavy metal albums of all-time from January 1st, 1980 to October 31st, 1983 with a couple of November outliers. The albums which are top 100 albums but in the second part of that list are not on this list, check elsewhere on these pages. I always tell the KICK ASS METAL readers I meet in public, who recognize me at concerts, around town or at the record shoppe, build your record collection backwards, since it is November 21st, 2017 start with the 2017 albums of the year list first. Or if you get the inspiration you can start from underground year zero day one. So I have seen this album get strange and bizarre treatment from the revisionist metal armada, aka the publications NOW who never had a print edition during the golden age of heavy metal. August 1st 1981 to October 31st 1986. Keep in mind the original top 100 list for this publication the list being first made in 1983 and updated 1984/1985/1986/1987/1988……til 1997, the people who worked on that were the top 700 heavy metal fans world-wide, and if you were not around then, you obviously are not really allowed/eligible to speak on this subject really, and of course, you can never get a job here, and you imput hurts the actual heavy metal genre, more than all the eBay scams that go on at METAL ARCHIVES…..so I do read most serious heavy metal publications, but if you have some revisionist bent…then it is just entertainment and not actual heavy metal journalism. The secret to this album, is that Kate De Lombaert is 110% percent more authentic than all the so-called “top 100” albums listed as false inclusions in the revisionist press. And this album is more heavier than all of the over-rated “underground classics” the over-rated ones from the era, that has its nostalgia press that is only nostalgia and revisionism, the 1992-1994-era, that the heavy metal community never took serious in the first place. Most genres take 9 years to go off the rails, but that wave only lasted two years….!! Anyhow it is 2017 and this album spirit is championed all over the 2017 TOP 100 HEAVY METAL ALBUMS, list. Again this is THE GOLD STANDARD ALBUM WHICH YOU ARE JUDEGED AGAINST, and your ignorance is bliss, and puts you in the 15%-tile range, at the #17,555 ranking out of 117,000 artist who are covered in the actual heavy metal press. Myself I only can purchase 2,000 albums a year, and the bands give me another 1,000 to cover, but I collect classical/avant-garde/gothic/metal evenly, so your raking of #17,555 is no where near my 700 to 100 heavy metal albums I can purchase every year…..so learn the gold standard and become the new gold standard, or you can just be over-rated in the revisionist press, and your stuff end up in second hand stores, where those stores will have to give them to delete bin outlets…..!!!! Will have to revisit this albums soon !!!!!! This album needs to be repressed every year in heavy metal !!!!

When it comes to the best of the best albums in heavy metal of all-time…..I always am drawn to the ones with the MOST FUCKING KILLER GUITAR TONE, and those albums that give me the spine-chilling goose bumps, all over and running up and down my spine…..!!!!!!!!!!! For those who are new to heavy metal, those starting out in 2015 2016, 2017, I have always recommended, to get the best albums from the current era first !!! ……and 2017 has been ONE OF THE BEST YEARS since I have started with Heavy Metal in the summer of 1978….!!

“My goal has been to write catchy songs with hooks that will haunt your dreams, and I think it’s pretty much ‘mission accomplished.” quote, unquote  Heavy Metal Legend Jani Liimatainen

Oh that fact….whoa….mission accomplished, and the results for the KICK ASS METAL team are heavier and more KICK ASS than expected….!!!

I have no problems putting this in the CDplayer in my car, right in heavy play list rotation alongside ManOwaR “Fighting The World” and the Debut Metal Church “Metal Church” CD…..everyone thinks we listen to Slayer, Razor, Exodus, Nervosa, The Kovenant, Jack*Off*Jill all day….well because we do. But during the golden ages in heavy metal, there have been dozens, if you know what the fuck is happening on Planet Metal….!!!!! And right now since around October 31st, 2012, I noticed a new GOLDEN AGE in Heavy Metal, and this era has been documented here exclusively and extensively.

For those new to heavy metal, and you have been a fan a week, or a month, and know everything, because you read the fake news/ historical revisionism part of the heavy metal community…..I will just say straight away go buy every fanzine ever written from 1980 to 2002, when the print media was all the rage, and because everyone knew then the internet writers were the dudes who could never ever get a job for a actual fanzine…..and pick up any heavy metal history book, from the golden age of heavy metal the golden age from 1994 to 2003, and you going to noticed Nightwish in every single heavy metal serious publication, in either a write-up, interview or record review…..!!! For this Golden Age of Heavy Metal, Nightwish left one of the biggest indelible marks on every serious heavy metal publication world-wide. I will have to revisit the history book by Gary Sharp-Young, and make sure he gave Nightwish the justice, trust, respect that they earned since the debut album was unleashed on Planet Metal on November 1st, 1997……!!!! And if his writer’s  tone is strange and bizarre, then I will have to fix that wild fuck-up, but I know he was objective on the upper-tier of heavy metal’s gold standard. The Gold Standard in heavy metal this word is a noun, it just means

“the best, most reliable, or most prestigious thing of its type.”

Right now were talking about The Dark Element “The Dark Element” album  and I say this a lot there are certain albums in which heavy metal hall of fames, and altars of metallic mayhem are built around…. I have various music libraries in my house, I have a top 100 album stack in my collection a top 666 album stack, and a HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME, albums. For now this will go into the HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME stack, as well as the regular record collection stack, lets see if a higher ascension happens for this album….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea how high this album will rank in the actual heavy metal community and in the SYMPHONIC HEAVY METAL category, but for sure this is the FRONTRUNNER FOR THE Symphonic Metal album of the year, heavy metal 2017……I get asked all the time if this is a GOTHIC METAL age and a AVANT-GARDE METAL age publication “what the hell and what the fuck” is a symphonic metaller heavy as fuck band feature here. Those who are unaware of Heavy Metal History, there are a few albums that are progenitors, too two genres…..Avant-Garde Metal / Gothic Metal / Symphonic Metal has a couple of albums in common……there are here mention elsewhere in this publications and all serious heavy metal publications….Celtic Frost “Into The Pandemonium” * The 3rd and the Mortal “Tears Laid In Earth” * The 3rd the Mortal “Painting of Glass”.

As far as the metallic mayhem goes, this album features everything a heavy metal fan “claims” that what they want in heavy metal albums, this album has tons of KILLER RIFFS, HOOKS THAT WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU, AUTHENTICITY, INTEGRITY, ORIGINALITY, FIST BANGING FIST PUMPING RIFFS, STUNNING LEADS, BOMBASTIC RHYTHM SECTION, A WORLD-CLASS VOCALIST who can sing, with talent passion, power, charisma, and sings with clarity having perfect enunciation and perfect pronunciation…….!!!!!!

So with all subjective/objective…nah, I am a subjective only writer……the only one honest about that fact. This album give me the “goosebumps” “jaw-dropping”, “mind-blowing” KICK ASS….this would be a KILLER ALBUM in its own right, but since I get “goosebumps” from the melodies and the guitar solos, and perfect perfection, this Is what pushes this album in the mere upper 99.0% to the upper 99,9% of all metallic mayhem of all-time.

This is one of those albums which needs to be in each house you own, if no summer vacations homes, get a military footlocker and throw your top 700 albums of all-time, and toss a couple of this album in that back-up collection….!!!!!!!

With a mind-blowing KILLER METAL AS FUCK album cover, this is a FUCKING ESSENTIAL PURCHASE !!!

KICK ASS METAL RATING

100 OUT OF 100 BLOOD DRIPPING SKULLS — FUCKING ESSENTIAL

Everyone who knows heavy metal history from day 1 the beginning….that Motörhead, is one of the few bands that never-sold out….99.9% of the bands who are still around, who were “heavy metal” in the 1980’s are all gone, and if they are still around it is in a tribute band format, because most bands do not have the common sense if your going to sell-out, change the name of your band…!!! The Heavy Metal genre died a violent death August 11th, 1991 so none of that matters anyhow, with all the bay area thrash metal clubs closing, the alternative metal movement, and the neo-thrash/nu-metal movement…etc….!!! I started with heavy metal in 1978, so I got to see ALL the major metal bands sell-out 1st hand, which is kind of cool, selling out is just becoming what you hate in life the most….it is kind of cool to watch people self-destruct and unravel like that….everyone claiming they started POWER and THRASH bands, because of AOR radio, MTV and how they hated accessible music, only to become shameless corporate rock bands that they have become, hair cuts, logo changes, and what ever else the labels and management companies make them do !!!! …… ha ha…!!!

Once the marketers convinced you that playing simpler music for adult radio is progressing, unraveling is progressing…whoa!!! The other one where they got you is the if you stay true to yourself, well why would you want that ????  ha ha ….they just keep pulling fast ones on you…!!! Let me tell you right away if you apply that “logic” to real life situations like the military, you will get executed for treason!!!!

I know who sold-out and when, it don’t matter if was pretty cool to watch all the NWOBHM sell-out one by one, then the thrash metal bands most sold out by 1985, and the slow down syndrome by 1987 and GONE by August 11th, 1991…..pretty cool watching all those logo changes occurring/ hair cuts/ and shopping heroin chic…..Motörhead was never really a top 25 favorite, but a band that always got heavy rotation since 1980, and over the years, as bands descended, and off our want list, Motörhead ascended to the top of our want list….being one of the few bands from the 1980’s that never sold-out. Catching a band selling out is similar to how law enforcement official catch sex offenders and murders, it is abhorrent, very few people do it, and it is always shocking. Even it that stuff became legal, there will always be retribution, and street justice….. I could careless when bands sell out but it is always funny. watching all the business men destroy metal bands one after another, is quite funny after all those dudes claimed they were the most metal metallers ever….or most people just defend these bands, because they are of similar integrity challenged…!!!

So collecting 1980’s metal it is the rule of thumb years to watch out for are 1985, 1987, 1991….after 1991 pretty much all the bands are washed-up/ washed-out or completely rock and roll bands….!!!! Funny since those trends that affected them only last 5 years tops !!! No metal band ever switched styles to a less successful paying genre…this is a key fact….those who own them, know where the money is at. Every band how got hair cuts all sold-out, and none of them ever returned to form….even if they did, I never but them back on my want list, because for ever band that sold-out a hundred thousand did not !!

1990’s metal band do not have this problem, since those artist never had a AOR/Classic Rock radio phase growing up!!! There is a lot of heavy metal stamped all-over hard rock, and metal ran with that, but then wanted to stamp heavy metal with soft rock and hard rock, always making sure to make sure the music never had any intensity, or music virtuosity ….!! Once you start to get heavy just stop for a few seconds, and start back up soft and slow!!!

Since this album is a lot better than 99.9 of the bands marketed as “metal” “heavy metal”, no matter what the metal press champions, this is the real deal….pretty cool cover version on this “Breaking The Law” better than the original, not really difficult when you really think about it !!! 2 punk covers, a big Sex Pistols fan, since there debut was way more metal than 99.9 of the bands who were marketed as metal in the 1970’s and 1980’s….Love there version of “God Save the Queen”, love the Anthrax version a little more, because of Dan Spitz artwork. I love the song-writing “Twist” that is stamped on the song “Whiplash” this version sounds closer to Acid, than Metallica, where as the Lzzy Hale “Ride the Lightning” blows the Metallica version out of the water, because it is not really difficult to out class Metallica, in the first place, top 100 band of all-time, of the golden age, top 700 of all-time in the top 700….last place, just because who there fans are, and not the over-rating by those on the take, and agent provocateur publications . Metallica has never had a ranking higher than top#5, but that was back in July 27th, 1990….as they have back slide, others have ascended a million miles over those first 2 Metallica albums, again not really difficult when you really think about it !!

THIS NECKBREAKING NEWS FEATURE IS COURTESY OF RoadrunneR/Blabbermouth News Service

Death metal GODS AND HEAVY METAL LEGENDS MORBID ANGEL will UNLEASH upon planet metal their new album, “Kingdoms Disdained”, on December 1 via UDR Music. Recorded at Mana Recording in St. Petersburg, Florida with producer — and former MORBID ANGEL guitarist — Erik Rutan, the LP marks the band’s first release with drummer Scott Fuller (ANNIHILATED, ex-ABYSMAL DAWN) who joined MORBID ANGEL last year following the departure of Tim Yeung. It is also be MORBID ANGEL’s first album to feature bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker since 2003’s “Heretic”.

“Kingdoms Disdained” will include the song “Warped”, which MORBID ANGEL performed live on its recent U.S. tour.

Tucker, who is back for his third spell with the group, told “The Metal Magdalene With Jet” show about MORBID ANGEL’s approach on the upcoming album: “It was really just about writing music — it was just about writing a MORBID ANGEL album. Nobody said, ‘Hey, we wanna go in this direction,’ nobody said anything. I mean, there’s obvious things there. I’ve said it before — I’m a death metal guy, so, for me, it’s gonna be a death metal album; if I’m on it, it’s death metal. So it was just about making a MORBID ANGEL album. It was really about coming in with something new, something fresh, but yet it still being MORBID ANGEL. Really, honestly, we didn’t approach this any differently than any of the other albums I was involved in except for maybe [1998’s] ‘Formulas Fatal To The Flesh’, which ‘Formulas’, Trey [Azagthoth, guitar] wrote all the music, all the lyrics and things like that. But this was done more similar to maybe [2000’s] ‘Gateways To Annihilation’, where everybody had their contribution. Trey wrote a bunch of songs, I wrote songs, Scotty contributed some ideas. There was a lot of back-and-forth. In the end, it has to become a MORBID ANGEL song. And at this point, I feel that it’s very much a MORBID ANGEL album.”

MORBID ANGEL in January announced the addition of Dan Vadim Von (guitarist/frontman of the American death metal band VADIMVON) to the band’s lineup on second guitar. He joined the group as the replacement for Norwegian guitarist Destructhor (a.k.a. Thor Anders Myhren), who left the band two years ago.

Former MORBID ANGEL frontman David Vincent recently joined forces with several other musicians — including Yeung (drums) — to perform classic MORBID ANGEL songs under the I AM MORBID banner.

MORBID ANGEL’s avant-garde metal masterpiece 2011 album, “Illud Divinum Insanus”, marked the group’s first CD to feature Vincent since “Domination”.

The reason Morbid Angel is featured in these pages is because Morbid Angel is 30 years of the World’s Greatest Heavy Metal of all-time and one of the GREATEST HEAVY METAL BANDS OF ALL-TIME. Acutally the Morbid Angel album “Domination” is ranked/ rated as one of the GREATEST TRADITIONAL HEAVY METAL ALBUMS OF ALL-TIME, by hundreds of KICK ASS METAL staffers, but as the Boss, I have the Knowledge to Know that Crest of Darkness “The Ogress” is the greatest heavy metal album of all-time, which has been a undisputed fact @ KICK ASS METAL since it was unleashed upon Planet Metal, back in May 12th, 1999, KICK ASS METAL is a GOTHIC age/ Avant-Garde age/ Death Metal age publication and Crest of Darkness has all 3 of those factors to perfection…..so that is the objective/subjective aspect of that fact. Morbid Angel as a traditional heavy metal band, as well as a death metal band has 6 albums in the top 100 heavy metal albums of all-time, in the traditional metal realm, those album are Abominations of Desolation 1986/19991 — Altars of Madness — Blessed are the Sick — Covenant —- Domination and —- Entangled in Chaos, as a traditional metal and extreme metal fan, all of those 6 albums also belong on the top 100 extreme metal albums of all-time, also. As a Avant-Garde Age Publication, the Avant-Garde Metal Community championed the Avant-Garde Metal Timeless Masterpiece “Illud Divimum Insanus”….which that article has now been pulled but I have a photographic memory so I remember that article being published, because I have a print out of it as I went to the record store for that album, since it achieved the status of being, SUPREME IMMORATAL METALLIC ART OF THE HIGHEST ORDER FROM THE GOTHIC METAL/ AVANT-GARDE METAL COMMUNITY !!!! I have been going to the record store 3 to 4 times a week since October 1st, 1982, when I lived 3 blocks away, 900 feet awasy from a METAL ELITIST / METAL ONLY record shoppe !!!!!
Morbid Angel is one of the few artist from the GOLDEN AGE OF HEAVY METAL. AUGUST 1ST, 1981 TO OCTOBER 31ST, 1986, to be covered in these pages. Motörhead, Morbid Angel are two bands that never sold-out or washed-up and washed-out like every 1980’s heavy metal bands. 1980’s heavy metal artist could not cut it in the 1990’s…first wash-ups and sell-outs in 1985 and the genre being THE LAUGHING STOCK OF heavy metal community, skateboards and Bermuda shorts…etc….!!!  That is the reason the Death Metal age happened and is still the zeitgeist of the genre. And the Genre got a crushing blow When Metallica unleashed upon Planet GLAM METAL the timeless AOR/GLAM Metal masterpiece Metallica “Metallica” on August 12, 1991 the Mötley Crüe-esque Metallica “Metallica” even getting Mötley Crüe’s producer to achieve the AOR/Glam Metal/ Hair Metal/ Los Angels Metal sound and style…..As a Glam Metal fan I claim Metallica “Metallica” as one of our own….and appears on the top 100 GLAM METAL ALBUMS OF ALL-TIME LIST, and is a KICK ASS METAL HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME album in the GLAM METAL category. Most of the sell-out thrash metal albums are perfect for a GLAM METAL RECORD COLLECTION — Metallica “Metallica”, Megadeath “Countdown to Extinction” Testament “Practice What Your Preach”. As a gothic metal age publication there is no such thing as selling out in OUR genre, but Heavy Metal is the only genre where this phenomena/ selling out occurs….and seeing Metal bands sellout is not only fascinating, put kind of cool really seeing Metal bands cater to the people who hated them since day one, while betraying the fanbase who made them millions and legends in the first place. As a gothic metal fan, I know the difference between hard rock and heavy metal and gothic metal, and it is cool to watch almost every song-writer from the 1980’s to be fascinated with the Popular Culture song-writing formula. It still listen to Classical Music and Heavy Metal/ Gothic Metal 50/50. It helps keeps me geared toward the gothic/avant-garde side of heavy metal!! Keep in Mind Thrash Metal was already dead, wash-up, and sold-out long before Metallica released a album Metallica “Metallica” on August 12th, 1991…. which has more in common with Pantera’s “Power Metal” Mötley Crüe “Too Fast for Love”, Mötley Crüe “Shout at the Devil” and WASP “WASP” instead of Tyges of Pan Tang “WildCat”. Were just letting you know the actual subjective/objective facts as why Metallica was a KILLER METAL band for just say 5 years and Morbid Angel achieved 30 years of the greatest heavy metal band of all-time !!!

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA heavy metal rockers Lady Beast will be appearing on the television show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown on CNN during the episode airing on October 22, 2017.

The press release states:

“The Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown episode airing October 22, 2017 will feature a performance by Pittsburgh metal heroes Lady Beast.

Lady Beast has achieved global recognition for their hard hitting, DIY approach to traditional, NWOBHM inspired heavy metal, becoming torch bearers for the movement wherever they are heard. Fronted by bewitching performer Deb Levine and featuring the shredding twin guitar attack of Christopher ‘Twiz’ Trichler and Andy Ramage, the rhythm is held down by the World-Class bass of Greg Colazzi and drummer Adam Ramage’s speed metal metallic mayhem.

“We’re flying the flag for traditional heavy metal,” said Adam in the band’s March 2015 Pittsburgh City Paper cover story, and it is a point impossible to argue. Also seen in Bandcamp’s Twelve Metal Bands That Put the Emphasis on Shredding, webZines such as  KICK ASS METAL,  Metal Maidens…..  and having played with acts like St. Vitus, Deceased

Parts Unknown will show the world that Lady Beast have the chops to hold down the big stages and since Lady Beast is a top 100 heavy metal band and with the metal elite, in terms of authenticity, riffing abilities, song-writing and feature a World-Class Vocalist in Debroah Levine, and are a KICK ASS METAL HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME BAND, with 3 albums appearing in our top 100 albums, even making the top 100/top150 of all-time list!!!

Lady Beast’s catalog and merch can be found on Bandcamp, encompassing their albums Lady Beast, Lady Beast II, and the EP Metal Immortal. The band is primed and ready for their national TV debut, and will be putting the momentum into their upcoming full length Vicious Breed on Cruz de la Sur Music. Their music has garnered raves worldwide, but once experienced live metal fans will scream for more!

See Lady Beast on Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown Sunday, October 22nd at 9pm on CNN.”

Lady Beast have released three albums to date ALL KICK ASS METAL HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAME ALBUMS —Lady Beast (2012), Lady Beast II (2015) and Metal Immortal (2016) — and will be releasing a new studio album Vicious Breed in early 2018.

Cradle of Filth is without a doubt the World’s Greatest Heavy Metal band of all-time, with 24 albums of which are on our TOP 100 HEAVY METAL ALBUMS OF ALL-TIME LIST, THAT IS 25% of the best of the best of the upper-echelon of the top-tier of the GOLD STANDARD, THE nearest closest band is Crest of Darkness, Motörhead probably has more, but has never held a #1 ranking in this publication, even though they are a subjective favorite band ever since I started webZine in August 1st 1980, then Slayer with 7 back to back classics from 1983 to 1990, a band like Metallica only has 2 top 100 albums of all-time listed with the KICK ASS METAL heavy metal hall of fame….!!!! There is a lot of wild fuck up’s in a few list, concerning Metallica, now that I will be taking back over the editorial and hall of fame aspect of this webZine, I will fix those fuck ups. But they were a very important part of the brilliant GOLDEN AGE OF HEAVY METAL from August 1st ,1981 to October 31st, 1986 even if there were MORE IMPORTANT AND MORE INFLUENTIAL ARTIST AND MORE LEGENDARY ARTIST from that time period !!!

The Golden Age of Gothic Metal as well as the Golden Age of Avant-Garde Metal, have the same GOLDEN AGE period this is from January  1ST, 1993 to July 27th, 2004 …. we specialize as a specialized press for this era, and a specialized press for TRUE NORWEGIAN GOTHIC METAL….and because there are tons of GOLDEN AGE OF HEAVY METAL 1981 -1986 AND GOLDEN AGE OF EXTREME METAL 1983 -1989 AND GOLDEN AGE OF DEATH METAL JULY 27TH, 1990 TO INFINITE…….SINCE THIS MUSIC IS UNTOUCHABLE FOR COMMERCIALIZATION, where Power Metal and Thrash Metal, was watered down heavily in 1985, the slow-down syndrome in 1987, and a dead genre by 1991, with all the thrash metal clubs closing down, and September 24th, 1991 being the final nail in that coffin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never forget this I tell my student and true fans who I meet every day, and this is THE IMPORTANT FACT TO CONSIDER WHEN COLLECTING Heavy Metal…If a webZine did not have a PRINT EDITION during the GOLDEN AGE OF HEAVY METAL 1983–1989, and was not a monthly or bi-monthly publication, then everything on there webZine is revisionist and all-top 100 albums list are pure non-sense with a false inclusion rate of over 95-99 percent with a glaring omission rate also at 95-99p percent, but keep in mind there were a lot of mistakes made back then concerning heavy metal….put nothing like the hundreds of millions to a billion mistakes over @ say Metal Archives and the likes…since so many marketers, anti-genre metallers, revisionist are allowed to have free accounts, and there is no one with the intelligence or bravery to have quality control, since they were never heavy metal fans in the first place since before the NWOBHM like I was back in the Summer of 1978…..!!!

But during METAL’S GREATEST GENERATION the GOLDEN AGE OF GOTHIC METAL January 1st, 1993 to July 27th, 2003 Cradle of Filth had 13 TIMELESS MASTERPIECES UNLEASHED ON PLANET METAL BACK THEN, DURING THE MOST INTENSE COMPETITION IN THE HISTORY OF THE GENRE…!!! As a matter of historical record, it is quite noticeable that most of the over-rated bands in the 1980’s were washed-up, sold-out, switched genres, bounced around from trend to trend, and 99.9% of the 1980’s metal bands could not cut it in the 1990’s!!!! Every serious metal publication on a daily basis, talks about when a band, washes-up/sells-out/becomes a tribute band with original members, then from there a cover bands of the tribute band, of that which sold-out and earlier washed-out!!! But if a traditional metal band never sold-out they will get coverage here….keep in mind that this is a GOTHIC METAL publication in the AVANT-GARDE age, the GOTHIC METAL age, and the DEATH METAL age of heavy metal, since July 27th, 1990 for Death Metal, and January 1st, 1993 for Gothic Metal and Avant Garde Metal, and the CONCEPT OF SELLING OUT and BEING A POSER, has never been part of the GOTHIC METAL COMMUNITY culture, in the first place!!! Before Gothic Metal and Avant-Garde metal before we had our first bands starting with Celtic Frost “Into The Pandemonium” in November 2nd, 1987…I was heavily involved in the HEAVY METAL UNDERGROUND, where I could only get my METALLIC ADDICTION FIX in small increments, and Celtic Frost “Into The Pandemonium” was the 1st HEAVY METAL ALBUM where the boundaries of POPULAR SONGWRITING/ HARD ROCK/HEAVY METAL/AVANT-GARDE CLASSICAL MUSIC/ HORROR MOVIE MUSIC/ CLASSICAL MUSIC, not only mattered, but created a new head-space….the GODSEND I was l@@king for, and got more of this metallic addiction fix in Ill-Literature Magazine and in July 27th, 2004 Avant-Garde Metal webZine went online, and has 4 of the greatest print editions of all-time….!!!!

In the spirit and vibes of Ill-literature this publication is put together by Connoisseurs of World-Class Heavy Metal, that which is in the UPPER-TIER OF THE UPPER-ECHELON OF THE GOLD STANDARD of the best of the best of artist that create supreme METALLIC immortal art of the highest order, and while the smartest people on Planet Metal knows everything in these pages, but this page like Ill-Literature is written for the new metal fans of the genre and looking at this webZine for the very 1st time!!!

And trust me on this….Cradle of Filth and their 24 top 100 heavy metal albums of all-time, is a band and altars of metallic mayhem, and HEAVY METAL HALL OF FAMES ARE BULIT AROUND THIS BAND, and these albums… I have 550 plus of Cradle of Filth CDs laying around the KICK ASS METAL offices, since I rebuy there back catalogue every year !!! I would never say to anyone, to buy 500 Cradle of Filth CD’s unless I have done so myself….I have 30 copies of albums such as Exodus “Bonded By Blood” Nervosa “Victims of Yourself” and Nerovsa “Agony” I tell my readership in person and in these pages to do the same….because I have !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cradle of Filth are THE UNDISPUTED KINGS OF HEAVY METAL AND THE UNDIPUTED WORLD’S GREATEST HEAVY METAL BANDS SINCE 1994…AND GOING ON…………………..30 YEARS OF THE GREATEST HEAVY METAL BAND OF ALL-TIME!! Since we are a Specialized Press for the Brilliant True Norwegian Gothic Metal and Dark Metal, Avant-Garde Metal, Horror Metal Genres…we have a GREATEST BAND OF ALL-TIME SYSTEM where a NORWEGIAN BAND IS LISTED AND A INTERNATIONAL band is listed, ie a band not from the legendary TRUE NORWEGIAN GOTHIC METAL MOVEMENT !!!

We do look at each of the 130,000 bands in heavy metal objectively but since I have studied music theory, taking 18 music classes in 6th grade to 12th grade…they wanted top-tier academicians…aka honor roll students who were football players to have refinement back in the early 1980’s….since I know metal history and music theory inside out and upside down…I know subjectively the music that causes the most evocation and the albums that are the most MOLTEN METAL, face MELTING, MIND BLOWING, JAW DROPPING, CHILLS AND UP AND DOWN THE SPINE….and from the subjective point of view…I write from this perspective !!! And anyone claiming to be “academic” and “objective” are ALWAYS FULL OF SHIT, because music is a true subjective music experience …and I know for a fact they were never around during the founding days of NWOBHM and the founding days of the glorious 1980’s underground metal movements!!!!! It is not their age that gives them away, it is just the fact, they have no fucking idea what the fuck they are talking about to the point of there webZines being pure fiction @ best and revisionist all the fucking way!!!!!Because they were never there in the first place !!!!!!!!!  Like with any band featured in these pages, good luck opening aN ACTUAL metal publication, and not seeing an advertisement, an album review, a write-up, or an interview on these HEAVY METAL GODS AND HEAVY METAL LEGENDS…..AND good luck fuckers who think they are going to cute not put them in a heavy metal history book..good luck fuckers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you do the work and have the achievements we will give you this kind of coverage EARNED….because this bands has had my TRUST AND RESPECT SINCE DAY 1 in February 24th, 1994…..!!! And it was a beautiful thing to see @ work. Decide “Legion” being taken down as the GREATEST HEAVY METAL ALBUM OF ALL-TIME, and seeing CRADLE OF FILTH “THE PRINCIPLE OF EVIL MADE FLESH”…..BEING put up as the GREATEST HEAVY METAL BAND OF ALL-TIME, AS WELL AS THE GREATEST HEAVY METAL BAND OF ALL-TIME……CRADLE OF FILTH/ CREST OF DARKNESS ARE KICK ASS METAL’S #1 HEAVY METAL RANKED BANDS OF ALL-TIME AND OF ALL-GENES…there are number 1 rankings for each of the HEAVY METAL GENRES….year in and year out, there will always be write-ups like these METAL LEGENDS AND METAL GODS…not just here but World-wide, year in and year out, since 1994……..there is no band who left a more permanent indelible mark on the psyche of actual heavy metal fans world-wide and has the biggest scar left on the history books of WORLD-CLASS HEAVY METAL !!!!

Malevolent kings of British metal. Masters of the darkest arts and crafts. Cradle Of Filth have been firmly ensconced at the forefront of the extreme music scene for the last two decades. Ever since they emerged from the lengthening Suffolk shadows in 1991, Dani Filth and his fiendish cohorts have blazed a grotesque trail across the globe, spreading their fetid gospel of obscene theatricality, pitch-black horror and exquisite musical madness, earning themselves a formidable reputation as one of the most important metal bands ever.

After unleashing three nefarious demo recordings, Cradle Of Filth began their campaign of dastardly destruction in earnest with the release of 1994’s ferocious debut album The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh, laying down a blackprint for everything that would follow, as Mr. Filth’s unhinged vocal versatility and gloriously twisted literary skills collided with a grandiose barrage of scything riffs, macabre atmospherics and bone-wrenching brutality. Upping the abominable ante for 1996’s Vempire EP and its full-length follow-up, Dusk…And Her Embrace, Cradle Of Filth rapidly established themselves as standard bearers for the UK’s dark metallic underground, consolidating that status with increasingly extravagant and dramatic live shows that put the meagre efforts of their contemporaries to shame. By the time 1998’s grand concept piece Cruelty And The Beast was unveiled, Cradle had already started to prod the mainstream’s vulnerable ribcage with their scathing wit and self-deprecation, making a notorious appearance on BBC2 documentary Living With The Enemy that enabled them to scare the merry hell out of startled viewers across the length and breadth of Britain. After Dani set his stalwart songwriting partnership with guitarist Paul Allender (who had returned for a second tenure with the band), 1999’s From The Cradle To Enslave even managed to scale the battlements of the mainstream pop charts, hastening the band’s growing stature as hated household names and music press anti-heroes.

As the new millennium dawned, Cradle Of Filth tapped a new vein of rich creativity with their fourth studio album Midian; a dizzying eruption of cinematic grimoire and razor-sharp sonic viscera that paved the way for a steady stream of similarly monstrous releases, including their own horror movie (2000’s underground success Cradle Of Fear). With an ever-growing penchant for augmenting their gruesome sound with ornate orchestration and all manner of disparate aural mischief, the band bestrode the decade with supreme confidence. Damnation And A Day, the Grammy-nominated Nymphetamine and Thornography all cast their sickly shadow on an otherwise impoverished music world, and countless world tours and festival triumphs duly followed on the whims of major label status.

Clicking into a higher and more hideous gear, Cradle displayed their contempt for taking the easy route with 2008’s Godspeed On The Devil’s Thunder, another labyrinthine concept work that told the vile saga of legendary knight and serial killer Gilles de Rais via some of the band’s most aggressive and intense material to date. Sustaining that sickening momentum with 2010’s similarly brutish and melodramatic Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa, our beloved filthmongers have shown no signs of slowing the pace of their creative flow, and have entered the second decade of this new century in the rudest and most rampant of health.

And now, it is time for the well-oiled gates of Midian to swing violently open once more as Cradle Of Filth prepare to release their tenth studio album, the all-powerful and undeniably terrifying The Manticore And Other Horrors. Recorded in eight to ten weeks at Springvale and Grindstone studios (where revered engineer Scott Atkins weaves his monstrous gloss), the new album comprises a collection of chilling tales of “personal demons, Chimeras, literary fiends and world-enslaving entities…” while showcasing the ongoing redefining and remorseless mutation of the classic Cradle sound, with an ever-more vicious underbelly of punk-fuelled black metal carnage driving the likes of monumental title track Manticore, the obnoxiously infectious For Your Vulgar Delectation and towering slabs of spew-drenched steel like The Abhorrent and Siding With The Titans breathlessly and brutally forward. With tentative plans for a release on Hallowe’en 2012, this is the ultimate Cradle Of Filth experience to date, complete with horrific live show come November and December, the band headline-touring in Europe.

‘This is our tenth commandment in metal,” proclaims Dani Filth. “We have diversified and kept alive the spirit of this band and breathed into it something that, I can proudly say, slays like an absolute motherf**ker. The Manticore is coming…Long live the filth!’

Back in 2001, it was reported in the actual heavy metal press, you know fanzines, I still read heavy metal magazines over the webZines…. that one of the greatest World-Class Heavy Metal bands in heavy metal Arch Enemy, recruited on of the best most convincing and talented vocalist in Angela Gossow, I was psyched on April 25th, 2001 when Arch Enemy “Wages of Sin” was unleashed on Planet Metal, I knew I would be a life long fan of this band, each album they have released is on our top 100 heavy metal albums in the year in which they were released…so a couple of years back in June 9th, 2014, when Alissa White-Gluz became the lead vocalist, I was relieved, because Alissa does a KICK ASS job, and has tons of charisma, and talent, and is just as convincing as Angela Gossow…!!

Arch Enemy is just one of those bands just good luck opening a webzine, a fanzine, a top 100 albums list, and a history book on heavy metal, and not seeing a chapter on Arch Enemy.

As a Gothic Age-age, Death Metal-age, Avant-Garde-age publication, we cover a few golden ages of heavy metal, the Death Metal-age since June 24th, 1990 and the Golden Age of Gothic Metal starting January 1st, 1993 and the Golden Age of Avant-Garde Metal, which started on July 27th, 2004, as well as covering the Golden Age of heavy metal from August 1st, 1981 to October 31st, 1986. Arch Enemy is a big part of this publication, just like every heavy metal publication that covers the best of the best in World-Class Heavy Metal….!!!

So those who know these pages or those who have meet me personal know, that this has been a favorite band of mine for over 15 years now…and as a first day buyer of the new Arch Enemy “Will to Power” album on CD in digipack format, after giving this album a few dozen spins, this is a “must have” album, for fans of this style of heavy metal, and a FUCKING ESSENTIAL purchase for life long fans of this band…..we do our initial top 100 albums list each year on October 30th..so our readers know which albums to pass out for Halloween, and which albums are excellent gifts for Christmas holidays, and of course to let our readers know which albums are the best of the best of each year and of all-time !!!!

Arch  Enemy “Will to Power” is one of the best albums of 2017, and should be added to your serious records collection as soon as possible…….!! We go out of our way to cover heavy metal bands that NEVER SOLD OUT…and without any hesitation we recommend the whole Arch Enemy back catalogue to those new to heavy metal, who started with the genre in 2017 or see this in the future………….!!!!

This album should easily get top scores from the likes of other like minded webZines such as  Sonic Cathedral, Metal Maidens, Femme Metal webZine, Black Phoenix Rising Metal Forums and Ravenheart Music, and of course expect to see this on top 100 heavy metal list all over planet metal !!!!!

5TH BACK TO BACK TO BACK CLASSIC RELEASE SINCE June 9th, 2014, when Alissa White-Gluz became the vocalist, replacing METAL LEGEND Angela Gossow, making Alissa White-Gluz a METAL LEGEND in her own right. And 14th, album in a row, with a perfect score of 100 out of 100 blood dripping skulls since April 25th, 2001 and a flawless discography since December 12th, 1996, 21 years of a perfect discography….!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not bad huh?
