I decided to included a previous Sindrome CD review for this box set review…just because no matter what top 100 album in each genre or sub-genre, is released. I will always review it as a reissue roulette article. I always add the fundamental and essentials to the record collection. Everytime I see a classic second hand or in a re-edtion, I always add it to the record collection.

Below is the Traditional Metal top 100 albums of all-time list.

As a Metal fan since 1978, I was one of the first 1,500 record buyers when Metallica “Kill ’em All” was released in the Summer of 1983.

The Initial pressing was 1,500, my local record shopped got in 10 copies on Vinyl and 10 copies on first pressing cassette. The record clerk was a thrash metal dude, and did all the ordering for the store, since his purchases always sold like hotcakes, the owner gave him a budget to work with. I snagged 5 of each. Cassette and Vinyl of Metallica “Kill ’em All” since I was so highly impressed with the previous 2 demos.

I had been a Metallica fan since October 1982, is when I started collecting heavy metal that could be called KICK*ASS*METAL or BAD*ASS*METAL. Before this is was just a NWOBHM metal collector, and by that time that stuff had began to ran its course. And I was luck to discover the best of the best of the specialized press.

 

The CD’s are in a slipcase like the old promo packaging from the old days of heavy metal, and the LP’s are pressed in a high quality. The real jem in the KILL/RIDE Box set is the BOOKS that each boxset, has. I hope the slipcase CD’s get repressed in Jewel Cases.

 

The idea of collecting each pressing of the top 100 albums of all-time in each genre and each sub-genre, is to retire the previous pressing.

I have a record collection.

A Second Record collection with just the top 100 albums of all-time

A third record collection with just the top 700 albums of all-time

A 4th and 5th record collection at my second and third homes.

Some albums like Exodus “Bonded By Blood” in each room in my house, I have 30 copies of this album. Every time someone cleans out the record collection, and makes the mistake of selling it in a return for credit stack, I will always get a back up copy every time someone makes that bad mistake.

 

The Difference in CD between the last time it was unleashed in 2013 is the current pressing is in digipack the cat# is the same for he digi, but the cat number adds

 

RD-1 to the suffix of the cat #

I always had the original demos, 2 copies of each version, and sometime during the Golden Age of Symphonic Black Metal, (Which happened from 1994-2003). I saw a add for these demos on 1 CD. (Sindrome is from the Golden Age of Thrash Metal — August 1983 to August 1991 – editor)

From the Brutal Records label, and of course it was a high quality CD BOOTLEG.

Brutal Records got the news of the Sindrome “Sindrome” CD in heavy metal magazines and news service world-wide.

I believe the first Brutal Record press run was 2000 CD’s and from these 2000 CD’s other bootlegs were made.

So the Brutal Records Version got me through, until

Sindrome “Resurrection….” was unleashed on Planet Metal on March 4th, 2016, and March 25th, 2016 for those who still go top the record shoppes, 3 times a week like I still do since 1982)

” On March 4, Century Media will release the two only studio recordings from the cult Chicago thrash/death metal act SINDROME — the acclaimed “Into The Halls Of Extermination” (1987) and its successor, “Vault Of Inner Conscience” (1991). As both demos have been bootlegged numerous times, it’s now time to offer all fans of timeless thrash/death metal these two legendary recordings as an official release, fully supported by the band and done in close co-operation with SINDROME vocalist Troy Dixler.

“Resurrection – The Complete Collection” will be released as a noble two-CD digipak with slipcase and 36-page booklet as well as an LP with a 16-page LP size booklet and bonus CD. The entire audio material has been carefully remastered from original sources to guarantee an optimal listening experience. Metalion (Slayer magazine) has written an introduction to the release and Laurent Ramadier (Snakepit magazine) has conducted an extensive interview with Troy Dixler giving you a deep insight into the band’s history. The cover artwork and additional design was done by Gustavo Sazes (MORBID ANGEL, ARCH ENEMY). As a special bonus, SINDROME has unearthed the lost track “Brought To The End” from the recording session of “Into The Halls Of Extermination” — an awesome track that now finally can be offered to the fans.

Besides the two demos and the bonus track, “Resurrection – The Complete Collection” includes a full bootleg live show from Chicago, recorded in 1988, when SINDROME supported DEATH on their “Scream Bloody Gore” tour. The show is unedited and has a pretty raw sound, but it captures the intensity of SINDROME’s live shows very well. It also includes the tracks “Surround The Prisoner” and “Psychic Warfare”, two songs from the very early days that were never properly recorded in the studio.

“Resurrection – The Complete Collection” offers over 88 minutes of relentlessly raging thrash/death metal and is a mandatory purchase for every fan of U.S. thrash metal and especially for the worshippers of the glorious heydays of the Chicago metal scene that brought up bands like DEVASTATION, TERMINAL DEATH, DEATH STRIKE, ZOETROPE, FUNERAL NATION, CYCLONE TEMPLE, ZNÖWHITE, NUM SKULL, FUNERAL BITCH and MASTER.
